>>I have a question that I'm sure someone in here has the answer to. When popping ball pythons I sometimes see the hemipene come out. Obviously male. Other times I don't see anything at all.....female. Sometimes though, I just see 2 bumps where the hemis would come out. Sometimes the nubs are white and sometimes red. No matter what I do I can't get a hemipene to come out of either side. The ones I can get to pop male are always easy to pop, both sides. I can't ever get these others to do anything more than show the small nubs. Are these females?

I would say yes, those are the females..but,i had one do that last year, and i had someone with more experience pop it.Turned out to be a male(,with short hemi-penes).
So experience is key, especially if they ARE female(as the "red" would be some form of hemorriging at that point, from the popping possibly.)
