Folks lately I've been posting questions, opinions, problems with my season, and I want to post a story with a happy ending for a change. June 28, 2008 was a gut wrenching day (hang on and read this has a happy ending) I arrived home from a wedding and went straight to the snake house to check on a litter only to find to my surprise my most anticipated litter of the year dropped a week early. It was from a male Bloody Salmon bred to the most gorgeous albino female in my collection and have not found a more impressive non coral non sharp non sunglow albino to date. She's pictured below but picture quality is mediocre. Anyway at first glance all I see are huge yolk sacs a large amount of stillborns and my heart dropped. However as I looked through the mess I was pleased to find 8 viable young (6 hypos, 2 normals) but with huge yolk sacks and looking frail. I quickly took to setting these up in individual moist deli cups overnight in order to allow them to absorb as much of the yolk as possible. The following morning I tied off the sack and gave them 2 weeks of rest and relaxation in a better than normal humid and warm tray. All we could do here at Perfect Predators was cross our fingers and pray. I am happy to say these babies, after a rocky start, that we only lost 1 and all surviving 7 are doing great have eaten 3 times and are looking like champs. See below the parents mating and some pictures of 3 of the babies...all and all it was the mom's first litter the male is a 2006 animal and I can now say I am happy because we are only one step now away from BLOODY SUNGLOWS!!!!!!!
