Yes,..it's just as Charlie mentioned,...it's an Eastern Hognose(Heterodon platyrhinos). That is the typical defense posture they display,...they will try that to look threatening,...puff up and sometimes make mock strikes with their mouths closed, and if that doesn't detour the predator, they will role over upside-down and actually "play dead" with their tongues hanging out of their mouths.

They are one of the coolest snakes there ever was!

I caught a melanistic(solid black) one very similar to that one in central Florida a couple years back, and it "hooded up" for just a bit after I captured it, then was placid as a puppy dog from then on!
