Spinal Salmonella Infection

Today, my five year old cornsnake Nora was euthanized secondary to a salmonella infection in her spine. I am very saddened by this because she was such a joy to own. What's frustrating is that I could find no information about this type of infection on the internet. I would like to compile a paper on this so I can get other reptile owners educated. Has anyone had a snake pass away with this kind of infection or is anyone familar with the course of spinal salmonella? Please help me learn more about this...
