I'll take a stab......
Good eggs - Dont smell thus wont attract any attention, are firm and dont allow anywhere for small bugs to bite onto. Bugs crawl around on good eggs while they're eating up the bad eggs and they probably dont even recognize it as more food.
Bad eggs - Smells bad thus attracting the attention of little critters that are designed to seek out stinky stuff to eat, and will also wilt or rot, allowing places for bugs to eat through the gunk given off.
Not to say that good eggs dont get predated on though. But thats not the jist of your question. You're wondering about CB eggs vs wild eggs survival.
