Beautiful shots---and beautiful "wifey!"
I love exploring caves!
I dragged my family into a spelunking adventure out in Colorado where a handful of us slid on our bellies (like a snake!) through a tight hole in the base of a wall into pitch darkness. Our guide was an expert who knew the huge, mazelike cavern like the back of her hand. (Otherwise we would have been doomed.) We all had headlamps so we could spend hours avoiding treacherous dropoffs (it would be a trick to get medical help in there) and wriggling through narrowing tunnels. I loved it! But my family said although it was very memorable they would not have gone if they'd known what they were in for (and they wouldn't do it again) *sigh*
Here's me avoiding a 30 foot pit (to the left). The floor slanted steeply toward the dropoff, as if it WANTED me to slide in. In fact, there was no flat floor anywhere in the cavern. Lots of incredible formations. I'll post another shot in the next post (since I'm not sure how to add multiple pictures) in this one.
