Almost every breeder I've met told me the same thing, not to mix my hatchling desert in with any of my adults or my juvi eastern. I also never mix hatchling and adult Russian tortoises, because I lost a hatchling that way. The only ones I mix no matter the age (not that I would put hatchlings or juvis with adults) are sulcatas. I bought about 2 dozen hatchling sulcatas last January and sold them for $100 each. By June, I sold all but the last two or three, and was given a 6-inch sulcata and threw it in the tank with them, and they did fine. ----- Cliff
