I like my freedom breeders just fine. I got those back in 2000 and havent had any troubles. I dont know what updates they have made since then, but I prefer my ARS rack to them. One, for the more closed top to help in humidity retention, two the tubs are more sturdy, three the heat plates are more rugged and insulated and I like using the helix dbs on the ARS as opposed to the thermostat which came with the freedom breeder. I have never had any trouble with it, its one of those on off deals as opposed to the dbs.
So yea.. I like my freedom breeders, but they ARS solved a few of the things i didnt like. Both of them it is a good idea to put something in the front of the tub to keep the more ambitious critters from opening the tubs themselves to take a late night slither through the snake room.

Being a small hobby breeder, with a nice small collection i can use the caging I feel best suits the snake, such as, i keep my big females in 6' visions, my males in 3' neodeshas and 3' ARS racks, small babys in boaphiles and freedom breeders, and my CA females in 4' neodeshas.
All of them have thier quirks.
I havent tried any of the big boaphile yet, but maybe someday.

Hope this helps a bit,
Take care and good luck

Mike
