Yes, but in some cases the super form of the trait is so injurious that it kills the animal. The dominant yellow mutant gene in mice is one example. One copy of the mutant produces a yellow mouse. Two copies of the mutant kills the mouse before it is born.

By the way, a codominant mutant gene is a codominant mutant gene no matter whether the gene pair has one or two copies of the mutant. And a a dominant mutant gene is a dominant mutant gene no matter whether the gene pair has one or two copies of the mutant.
