the oldest breeder recorded was over 40 years old so really don't worry about being 10. Also the biggest thing you want to take into consideration is you want something with a co-dom, or domin. gene to it starting off. If it has a simple ressive gene you will not see it in any of the babies when breed to a normal but domin and co-dom you will.

Best of luck also if go to a show you may find some really good deals, there was a guy that posted just the other day that he got a 1.1 pastels for 150 at a show normally you would pay that much just for one.
