Skin Dissolves

My baby pastel looked like it needed to shed the past few days. Today I thought I would soak him to see if it would help him shed. However, I found that his eyes were back to normal. The odd thing is, I could not seem to locate his shed...I checked his water dish and there seemed to be cloudy residue in it. Is it possible that his shed could have dissovled in the water?
