Retained sperm is also a possibility. I added the girl to my collection last year, and I don't know what she was bred to in 2006.
I will of course attempt to produce an albino Clown when this clutch is ready, but it's by no means a lock. Still, at the very least I got an adult het albino female for $80, and I've now produced my first visible morph, so I'm pretty excited right now.
Last week I had a really nice reduced spider poke out of the egg, then die. It had a twisted umbilical, and the yolk was barely absorbed. I wound up losing the whole clutch to various defects.
We all get some good luck, and we get some bad. Sometimes you get some great luck, which really adds to the hobby. I love working with my snakes year round, but seeing what emerges from these eggs really tops it all.
