i do not have a male that has reached 1000g yet. Several are proven and strong breeders!! I did recently pick up an 02 het albino male that is 1100g. JUST TO GIVE reference.

I did have one 14 yr old male that was 6ft 2in I can only guess he was from the "giant" populations. The guy that probed it for WAY BACK WHEN could not believe it was a male. RIP Charlie "the Snake" victim of a housewide thermostat failure.

Problem is the whole cycling issue. I house my males near my females and they completely shut down for feed between nov/dec through march. I do offer meals but they have one thing on their mind!!

I have no problem with it, they have acceptable weight and feed well in season. There is a lot of data AGAINST obese snakes particularly breeding males. So thin is better!!!!

The longevity records for BPs were from what most would consider "underweight" animals. Maybe our view of BPs is distorted they are not designed to have giant rats in their face weekly. IT just never happens in the wild!!!!

Oh and My opinion. Obesity in animals is abuse too!!

Photo included is my early 07 male blonde that weighs 450g. He is as solid as they come and feeds when he feels like it!!!!! He will breed when he feels like it to and not likely according to OUR SCHEDULES!!
