I know I haven't posted here in a while, but I couldn't contain my excitement with the results of this clutch. Here is the story:

This year we bred our Cinnamon male to a Hypo female in hopes of producing a male Cinnamon Het Hypo, becasue I always thought the Hypo Cinnys were so cool looking, and would make for some awsome projects in the future. I started candling these eggs at day 40. Around day 45 I marked the eggs, with three of them being Cinnys and one being normal. This really got me excited about the clutch. One of the cinnys, I circled the "C" on the egg, because I knew for sure that it was a Cinny. So I knew I had at least one. Well, day 51 rolled around, and I couldn't take it any longer, sio I cut them.

The first egg I cut was marked "N", meaning normal. Sure enough, a Het Hypo in that egg. The next egg was marked as a Cinny, but not the special one. I cut it, and saw, WHAT, a Hypo in the egg. What just happened? The next egg I cut was marked Cinny, and after cutting, observed a nice looking Cinny in the egg. The last egg was the circled"C", which I knew for sure was a Cinny based on the blushing and pattern that I saw in the egg during candling. Low and Behold, that egg really contained a Hypo Cinnamon. Boy was I lucky. I was able to skip a complete generation on that project.

p.s. I am typing this on generator power, because when I tried to post earlier, we lost power from Hurricane Gustav. As a result of this clutch hatching when it did, we have since named the Hypo Cinnamon - Gustav.

Gustav ended up being a male, as did the Het Hypo and the Cinny Het. The Hypo is a female, which is nice, because she looks very different than any Butterscotches I have ever producd (the Hypo mom is a Butterscotch Hypo). Meet Gustav and his clutchmates.

Thanks for looking, and allowing me to share our excitement,
