Yeah, at the last Herp Society meeting a guy from outstate Minnesota showed up (the meeting's in St. Paul) and complained there were no women in his area who liked reptiles. I told him to look around---half of the members of the Herp Society are women, and I bet there are women in his area who like reptiles; there's just no forum for meeting them. At the Ren Fest I hear from at least as many women as men who love snakes---but their significant other won't let them get one. It's a myth that women hate/fear snakes! (Although of course, some people of both genders do...)
