I don't know the laws in GA, but what I would consider most is not what is "legal" necessarily, but if the animal can get veterinary care if needed. Of course you should follow the law, but...

I recently moved to california. Thankfully, my snakes are legal, but I had sugar gliders that I found out were not. My first instinct was to say, who cares? No one will know or care besides my boys were neutered, so even if for some freak of nature they got out, they could wreak havoc on the native ecology... but as I looked into it a little bit I discovered that if a vet knew about them, they would be put down. Therefore, I felt it best to leave them in IL where they could get veterinary care if they needed it. I ended up giving them to my cousin, who loves them to pieces, so I guess the ending to my mini story is bitter sweet.

Just my thoughts... I know it's easy to say, who will know? and try to "sneak them in." What choices you make to obey the law or not are yours to make, but just look into if they can get the care they need if they were to get sick. Just my 2 cents! Choose wisely
