Actually, the animal in question is 3 years old. I bought it as a female and just recently decided to probe to make sure because it was very small for a female (20 1/2 inches). It presents as female when you try to pop it, but I'm getting between 6 and 8 scales when I probe. I've had others try with similar results. I just wanted to get an accurate baseline for scale depths. I wanted to make sure they were't like Carpets and Scrubs, with females probing up to 9 scales.
