In a ghost, I like to see less melanin present, as I think it represents the definition of "ghost" much better than some. Many snakes go totally overlooked, as they can have many different degrees of eye coloration, some being very evident, while others are barely discernable unless held to certain light at just the right angle. I have several different types of snakes that I have examined closely to find that they do indeed display very deep "blood/ruby-red" eyes. My hypo Lavender is one of these, and I also have a leucistic Texas Ratsnake with VERY deep red eyes as well. | ||
