Well, it just basically means that the hypomelanism gene is expressed to a greater degree than many other typical ghosts in the hobby. In a ghost, I like to see less melanin present, as I think it represents the definition of "ghost" much better than some. Many snakes go totally overlooked, as they can have many different degrees of eye coloration, some being very evident, while others are barely discernable unless held to certain light at just the right angle. I have several different types of snakes that I have examined closely to find that they do indeed display very deep "blood/ruby-red" eyes. My hypo Lavender is one of these, and I also have a leucistic Texas Ratsnake with VERY deep red eyes as well.

Here is a pic of a good friend of mine's ghost that has very red pupils(not from flash), and just a phenomenal amount of pink dorsal coloration. I think it is absolutely one of the nicest, most breath-taking ghosts I have ever seen to this day!
