The squirrel feed is nice because it has all nut and seeds, corn, black sun flower, peanuts, and what not, non of which are processed, the goat feed is added just to make it cheaper in the long run. I go through a I cream pail a week with my 6 breeder rats and all their babies, a 8 pound bag of squirrel food last me almost a month. So with mice you really would be set for a while. If you wanted you could probably do just squirrel food as well. If you do it is nice because their poop will be a lot smaller because they aren't eating all that glue like stuff that holds pellets together, much easier for them to break down. Bird seed can work to put I really like the peanuts for protein in my mix. [ Hide Replies ]
