I use racks from Animal Plastics with indirect belly heat. The heat cable is set into each shelf but is along the back edge of the box. It heats the shelf and provides a nice gradient. I use sterilite boxes, 1752, 1754, and 1756. They are 6qt, 15qt, and 32qt. I only keep one or two of the largest females in the 32qt size. Most of my breeders, males and females, are kept in the 15qt boxes. They do well in this size box. AP makes a hatchling rack that uses the sterilite 6qt boxes. I think this is the absolute best hatchling rack on the market. Mine is 9 shelves, 3 boxes to a shelf. All my boxes slide in and out easy, no water bowl spilling, etc. The top edge of every box touches the bottom of the shelf above it. A very tight but exact fit. I keep western hognose hatchlings and my locality red milks and have never had one get out. Just to give you an idea of how small the red milks are, my well fed yearlings are just now taking down small to medium pinks.
The other racks hold two of the 15qt boxes or 1 32qt box per shelf. I would recommend this rack because the versatility of using two box sizes. The fit of each box is precise and good but not as tight as the hatchling rack. There is about 1/8 inch gap which works well for ventilation and is tight enough that you never have to worry about a sub-adult or adult getting out.
