It really depends on your plans and what you like.

For recessives I usually try to buy the female first (het or visual) grow her for a year and then pick up a male - or plan to buy a breeder size female when the male is ready -- but that can be expensive.

Some like to buy the pair together and then make hets or possible hets with the male while the female gets to breeding size.

I personally wouldn't waste a breeder size albino female on a normal male -- I'd pick up either a het male, visual male or a codom somewhere along the way.
