Conformat Screws work best but aren't always necessary. I use pro-bond woodglue with all my melamine joints in addition to either screws or my latest cages were built with a pneumatic nailer and brads.



One note of caution is the glue bond between the melamine surface to the exposed wood is very weak. All of my joints were Dadoed so they were all wood to wood joints.
