heat lamps popping

hi, I've recently acquired a water dragon and a few aquatic turtles. I've bought basking bulbs and radiant heat lamps.

i have the bulbs housed in a dome steel fixture with the spring clamp on it (purchased at walmart, about $8)



i've now had 3 bulbs pop and burn out. one actually 'burst', with a chip of the bulb breaking completely out of the bulb.



ive searched different bulb and heating posts, but can't find one detailing if there is a certain fixture that needs to be used when using high heat/basking bulbs.



im not sure if its a fixture issue or something im completely missing.



any input would be greatly appreciated.
