RE: Hides for large burms?

Hides are basically for security, although they can be used for humidity, too. Especially during shed cycles.



None of my Burmese Pythons have had a hide since they were around 3ft long. My two adults that I've raised from hatchlings had access to one till they were about 4ft long but they both stopped using it by then.



Since Burmese Pythons aren't naturally nervous snakes I feel that it's easier to give them a sense of security in other ways. Cage setup, cage size, cage location, and frequent interaction, to name a few. They seem to adjust fairly easily under the right conditions.
