Yes, in theory a homozygous spider, even if it looked like the heterozygous spiders we have, now would be great for breeding.

But as far as I know almost 20 years after the original spider was imported there is still no one coming forward claiming to have a homozygous spider. It could still happen but the amount of time with no public homozygous spider makes me wonder if it's not a viable genotype.
