Baytril is usually dosed at 5mg/kg for respiratory infections. It is inflammatory at the injection site (this means it HURTS the snake and it causes inflammation which is usually not apparent on a colored animal...but you can see it on an albino). Injections must be given in the cranial end of the body (the head end, like front one third of body) to avoid any potential damage to kidneys. It works great and will clear up problems in 10 days or so with adequate heat given at the same time. The dosage usually calls for injections every 2nd or 3rd day, but I will often give daily injections to ensure success. I was told by a vet that daily injections of Baytril is okay.

Is your vet giving you the syringes filled for dosing?

Good Luck...hope it clears up for you.
