Ok Nick, that sounds deep enough for a male without much issue there.. Would think you could pop him and also start to see the purple areas indicating hemipenes too without much trouble . Either way that does sound like a male and in your case that's good news for you if he's not a good feeder anyway , he looks big enough to breed as a male, good luck with him this winter..
