Females (by most opinions) should be in their 3rd winter and at least 1500g. If a female is around 1200g and she is short/stout and not long/thin, I will breed her (if she is too thin there is more of a chance of getting egg bound). Your female should be healthy and well fed before you start the cycling process. No matter what, you should always think carefully before you breed a new female. Do it only if you are sure there is no danger to her health. Never rush a female into breeding. If she isn't ready then wait until next year. | ||
