Posted by: exitwounds at Thu Oct 16 14:07:52 2008 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by exitwounds ] so i was discussing with someone what the worlds largest snake species was and a thought occured to me during the discussion how have burmese pythons never been included in that topic? were talking of a snake that routinely exceeds 20 ft and over 200 lbs. thats bigger than most green anacondas you'll come across yet they get way more publicity on the matter. sure ill give retics as the biggest well definantly longest(once you've seen 25 of snake its hard to ever question that one) but how did burms not even come up here? im sittin here looking at my 13 foot 60 lb critter that is obviously a massive snake by general populus opinion and ive seen 20 footers and they are by far(especially in captivity where they end up way more rotund than their wild counterparts) larger than any green anaconda i've come across. the largest being a 17ft female that was just over a 100lb. how did these guys get so over looked?
