I just gotta say again, there is an inbred mentality within the academic and government game manager societies. Here is the model, the way I see it -- Academics train government wildlife managers. Academics must go hat in hand to government wildlife managers for grant money to operate. The "State" pays their salaries, for Heaven's sake -- the very people they groomed with their philosophy. It's a closed loop of wildlife management philosophy. A symbiotic relationship of one hand feeding the other. They're all in the same club. They're both dependent upon one another for their very justification and existence.

I'm not judging them, good nor bad, just stating the facts.

That is why input from private sector stakeholders is so critical. Their perspective alone should not be the final word.
