As far as caring for your snake goes, you can use a Corn Snake Care Sheet for your animal.

Note that Black Rats grow a little larger then your average Corn Snake and they like to climb.

I keep Easter Black Rats that are very dark, and are almost patternless. If you treat your animal kindly and handle it often, it will tame down and make a great pet.

The longest Black Rat on record was 101" in length. For the most part, a good sized male can reach 6 feet when well fed and well cared for.
