I keep several snakes, and one of my boas that Ive had since a it was a baby (3 yrs old now) has all of a sudden become very defensive. Mick (the boa) has always been around people, been handled frequently, but after being in a new cage for over 5 months became really defensive pretty much overnight. The temperature has dropped slightly in her cage, but is still in the low to mid eighties. I am not sure what would cause a change in behavior like Mick has done, because Ive used him/her (not sure of sex) in educational programs for kids and he/she has always been very easy to handle and never showed aggression like now. I dont know much at all about their breeding behavior, so I dont know if the change in temp would cause this. Just thought I would see what advice/tips I could get from here.
