I think that you're doing the right thing just leaving her alone for now. Most of my peruvians had pretty bad attitudes when smaller but have mellowed out with age. Some mellowed out after being 6 months old, some a year, some still can be a little tempermental, but from paying attention to them I can guess pretty good what kind of mood they seem to be in.



Also if you don't have one you might want to think about adding a hiding spot. In my experience it's seemed to make them feel a little more secure.
