I offer my babies one rat pinky or fuzzy per week until they go through their second shed, then I start offering them appropriate sized food items twice a week until they are around a year old.

It is not uncommon for them to gain 100 grams or more per month on this program. Obviously some won't eat that much and that's just fine, but at least I offer.

I believe that baby snakes along with other types of baby animals are genetically engineered to grow fast especially within the first year. For them to gain the weight that nature has planned for them they need to eat huge amounts of food.

Take birds as an example most people would not be able to tell the difference between a two month old pigeon from a ten year old pigeon. Most dogs at one year old are close to full size and when is the last time you saw a skinny 4 month old child.

I didn't go to class the day they taught us snake breeders about growing our snakes slow.
