Hello,
A few months ago I picked up a nice spider from a VERY reputable breeder. Within a few days I noticed some orange/brown spots developing on his belly. I thought they were scale rot even though it looked different than the snakes I've treated for scale rot before- I still treated it the same way. Sometimes it gets better and sometimes it gets worse. Now several of my females are developing brown spots on them. They are raised up round brown spots that are somewhat hard. I have switched out substrates (pelleted paper, aspen, newspaper), I have tried more and less humidity....nothing is improving the situation. Now my oldest female is getting white patches on her skin near the brown spots. I am very worried- I am going to the vet but I thought someone might have an idea of what this could be here. It seems that only snakes that came in direct contact with the spider have developed the condition but this may just be a fluke. I will post pics as soon as I can get to a camera.
