We have a special feeding tub for those types. It's a sterilite tub with a hole cut in the lid just big enough to dangle the rat through. Put the snake in the tub, put a phone book over the hole, warm the rat, then move the phone book and stick the rat in the hole. After s/he takes it just slide the phone book back over.
