Once you've done a sufficient job of tossing the house -- lock it up tight so he can't get out and wait -- he'll be out -- it might be a week it might be a couple of months but he'll come out when he's ready -- or you'll open the pantry door to find him wrapped around a bottle of soda or something - probably scare the you know what out of you.
