I spent my coffee time going down through these posts, and for me my presidential choice was very difficult, and really you all sound like a bunch of complainers - the people have spoken, the candidate in power was elected through duly authorized democratic system, the best in the world my friends, maybe that's why the whole world was waiting for the results no matter who you chose to vote for. After reading this I was sort of struck about the "take the log out of your eye thing", because most of us posting here are part of two organizations pointedly at the herpticulture, the laws, hobbyists, etc. including law changes and of course commercials, while some people have disdain for some commercials, many of our commercial people have developed new ideas, given employment etc etc, obviously you don't need this from me, as its all been discussed in previous posts--but here is what I would like to say to the two organizations, and not there leaders but their members. HOw does the organizations, connect with their people? IS the organizations exclusive or are the inclusive, and if so why haven't more of all of us gotten into the organizations, which is the Only political voice that is informed here in South Texas, that has a chance in hell of making changes. Why isn't there more creativity in the legal approaches that have been made so far? What has the organizations accomplished? If they have accomplished much then how do the members and constituents of those organizations know what is going on. What kind of follow-up does one get as a member with ideas? I guess my point is, that right here in South Texas there is need for all of our participation, creativity, and action on many of the previous ideas that have been put out. I say instead of pointing fingers at the people in power, how about dealing with the issues in a better and more conducive way to hopefully make an impact on the laws of Texas.
The fact of the matter is that the people in power that have caused all the issues are still in power and there is need to deal with them. Certainly when elections come around one has his vote. But what about between elections? I guess I would like to know more of what actually is going on with the real legal issues and who's the players and it seems that trying to become involved means a commitment of time and effort and yes maybe some of our monies. My point is that after going down the list of things stated its all moot. Yea its true for the most part, but what does that political argument amongst ourselves and the finger pointing over ideology have to do with getting a most needed approach to the job done?

I think our leaders of those organizations could get a little more creative in keeping in touch with their people and letting them be part of the organization, but on the other hand when people offer to help and there is no response, isn't that exactly what we are talking about with our gov't? Its a people thing, and an organizational thing.

I know that there are many people that have posted here that are a whole lot more on the ball than I am....but if you all have an opinion then I do to--when it comes to marginalization talk is cheap and result is the pudding of effort and hard work. But even more than that belonging and being informed, and action on creative ideas is almost an imperative, if its not happening, what can you do make it happen? While its coming up to the slower time of the year maybe more effort could be used in developing some ideas for next year. Because the issues without a voice are not going away and probably will not get better... OH and my last comment, is some leaders should not be so quick to poopoo new ideas. Some have a set idea in their own heads and seem to be resistant in my opinion to new ideas, and if there is a hole in the new idea but it has merit then instead of canning it because a leader doesn't like it, if they could explain themselves as to why it isn't a viable option then that would help as well......SO spring is coming, and the same issues are on the table so how can all of us who have posted do a better job of working with one another and joining one or more teams and doing something and will be efficacious in the political arena next year???
