So, did R. Ihle and J. Gee get their founder stock from this guy?
Back around that time the only Bci I ever saw in pet shops were these really mellow 3 to 4 ft. pink as heck import hypos with orangish tails. Never did find out for sure where they came from. They were the number one boa on the market where I lived (Houston, TX). They weren't orange, reddish brown, or yellow. They were pink. Maybe they were the original PC Hypo, I don't know. Almost no black on them. They looked most like a Hog Island, but without the gray, the color changes, and the black speckling. Their dorsal saddles were square to rectangular and very uniform. The dorso-lateral inclusions weren't linear or ovoid -- rather, innocuous to non-existent.
These snakes were lean, had rather narrow heads/snouts and the calmest demeanor ever. I only saw specimens between 2 to 4 ft. long.
