You only put one ball per tank. Ever. Except during breeding of course. Your son's design looks nice and more efficient if you plan on getting more balls. However, the 10 gal tanks will not last long. Adults, especially females, will need much larger enclosures.
Although rack systems aren't always that visually attractive, they're far more space efficient. They have several perks including the ability to heat several tubs with one heat strip. You can do google searches and youtube searchs for a tutorial of how to build one. I just built one about a month ago. 200 bucks for everything. I'm using 1/5th the space than before, and I still have room for SEVERAL more snakes in the rack. ----- 1.0 Pastel Ball
