With this logic, technically TNA wrestling could be considered real since Angle was actually an olympic wrestler.
And I may be wrong, and Im quite sure the boys will correct me, but I do believe Ken Shamrock was originally with UFC prior to going to WWE.
Now both WWE and UFC are sports. I feel UFC is a legit sport as opposed to the sports entertainment of the WWE. Both require one to be able to do various things physically.
Having trained in my past with martial arts, I give far more validity to UFC. The winner is not predetermined. Yes I do feel some folks are in there to create a mainstream popularity and Brock is one of them.
I was listening to a Rich Franklin interview on the radio last week. Honestly the things he does for his pre-fight training is pretty intense. From diet to exercise, it is a full time commitment. And before being an MMA fighter, he was a school teacher.
I think down the road there are two paths this can take. Either head more into the entertainment portion and book things for sensationalism or more into the land of boxing where it is the strength, training and technique. I do hope they choose the latter.
Personally I enjoy watching lower weight classes on these sports. Far more entertaining to me. ----- Cindy
