JCPs are definitely very pretty, especially once they fully get their adult coloration, but the size, color, and pattern of the IJs just appeals to me more. The size especially plays into it for me. JCPs get just a little bit bigger than I want to deal with, at least at first. I realize it's a small difference, relatively speaking (it's not like we're comparing retics to children's pythons here), but BRBs and IJs are more where my comfort zone is, size-wise. IJs may not have the striking bright yellow and deep black coloration of a really high-end JCP, but I think they're beautiful anyway. To each his or her own, aesthetically speaking.

Ease of breeding doesn't really factor into it for me except in terms of availability - I'm looking to have a pet, not a breeding program. The only reasons the sex of the animal I end up getting will really matter to me are the fact that females tend to be larger and more expensive, both of which push me toward wanting a male.

I have to admit, though, I'm curious what exactly you mean by "more personality," as even within one species, there is often considerable variation in that department. Crested geckos, for example - my brother has one that just kind of sits around doing nothing, whereas mine is almost a hyperactive court jester. She's much more excitable, almost always tracking my movements when I'm near her cage, and coming closer to the end I'm at to get a better look at what I'm doing, and frequently doing things and/or getting into positions that look downright silly.
