That research has some potential. With regards to pastels, it needs to be a bit more involved than just looking at pictures of Adults, babies and everything in between. The reason is, some of those really beautiful baby pastels, they stay as yellow and pretty as they are, while some of the Adults you see, they are a little bit more greenish brown hued because they are from the first generation of pastel, and the gene had not fully been brought out yet. For instance, I will give you a picture here of my adult female, and adult male(the male is the darker of the two, and is in shed in the photo)
When bred to a light female, he produces pastels that look completely different than he does. So, if you are interested in tracking the change in color of individual pastels over a year or two, then let me know, I have access to a few and I would be happy to take some pictures and send it to you once a month or so.

There are also two mojaves in there, it is just a group photo i snapped the other day.
