I could not figure out whether or not the law would be retroactive. That being, all of my ball pythons are descended from wild caught animals, but they are all imported so long ago, at this point I am not sure if their wording really applies to snakes that are a few generations away from their imported ancestor.
The way it was worded also seemed as though it would only apply to snakes collected after the law is enacted, or descended from snakes collected after the law is enacted.
It is definitely a ridiculous thing to do, especially in places like Oregon, where there is no chance of any of those tropical snakes becoming invasive. ----- Ball Pythons:
