I normally keep mine apart for about 3 to 4 days depending on the size of the food and how much they eat. I normally put my males in the females cage from 1 to 3 days depending on if they breed on the first day or if it takes up to 3 days. If they dont breed after 3 days I take the male out and put him back in his cage for 4 days or so. So if I was you feed them once they breed then your males and females have 4 days or so to digest their food. Good luck with breeding and all the excitement that comes with it! THANKS, BOB
