Let the snake tell you. Put it in a cage with a gradient from the low 70s at one end to the high 70s at the other end with a warm spot on the floor of the cage in the low to mid 80s. Shoot the snake with a non contact thermometer every time you check on it and you will probably find that it is spending time in the part of the cage that keeps it around 73 to 75 much of the time and warmer when digesting a meal. Our snakes are talking to us. We just have to figure out what they are saying.
