I bred Guinea Pigs for a couple of years. I had about 80 breeders. They are very funny at times. They will eat you out of house and home. Make sure you feed them Guinea Pig food and not something else. You may open up a bag of Guinea Pig food and say, this looks like Rabbit food or some other kind of food. Guinea Pig food only. Guinea Pigs need alot of vitimin C and that is not in the other foods. They also need fresh vegies on a reguler basis. I got rid of them for a couple of reasons, 1- they smell worse the rats or mice, you will have to clean there cages alot more often. 2- There is no money in them. I sold Guinea Pigs to most of the pet shops within an hour drive from my house at one time or another. Food has gone way up and so has gas. Believe me if you are breeding them to make money I would forget it. Most stores would only pay $5.00 each for them. They have small litters on average 3 but I have seen 8. They are walking around in no time after they are born, covered in fur and everything. If I could have them away from the house I might breed them on a small scale , believe me they smell bad. All they do is eat and poop. They will stand in the food bowl eating and pooping at the same time. If you are going to breed them for your own feeders then you might save a little. I had a hard time feeding off the Guineas because they are so cute. Most of my boas would eat them but some would not. There is a lot of information about them on the web. If you Google them you will find alot of good stuff. Good luck
