That is not completely true. A long time ago zoos that could even get them to breed were not working with "pure" lewisi". The whole zoo line and animals in the pet trade were, are, all hybrid. That has recently changed now that a handful of zoos have more recently gotten blues from BIRP. Fred know exactly who has them. The older hybrids have been located, tested and no longer bred. Point is the zoos blood line was never pure lewisi until just recently.
