One should also consider the fact that the two animals don't likely share many of the same habitat requirements -- light, humidity, food, habitat structure, etc. Putting two animals like that together would save space, but that's the only benefit I can think of. I can't see how saving the space could possibly outweigh the cost in terms of health of the animals. Cornsnakes don't take up that much space anyway and a 20-gallon long tank that could be used to house even an adult corn along with the other supplies aren't that expensive -- if I couldn't provide for the needs of both of those animals in two separate enclosures I would have to ask myself if it's a good idea to have them both to begin with.
